Francis Coates composes music in all genres from R&B, Jazz, to classical, and country.

About Me


Born in Washington D.C., Francis attended Suitland High School for the performing arts as a piano major.  In 2008, he graduated from University of Maryland Baltimore County with a B.A. in Music Composition with a secondary concentration in Music Education, and Administrative and Managerial Science. 

Francis has performed at the Kimmel Center, Merriam Theatre, and Kennedy Center.  Francis has performed with local recording artists: Kyonte Vincent, Darlene Simmons, Darius Mills, and major recording artist Regina Belle.  Francis composes and performs all genres of music but concentrates mostly on Jazz and Classical. 

He recently joined the Please Touch Museum in January 2009 and serves as the Music Coordinator.  Francis believes that music and arts education is the foundation for creativity and personal growth.
