About Me

Born in Washington D.C., Francis attended Suitland High School for the performing arts as a piano major.  In 2008, he graduated from University of Maryland Baltimore County with a B.A. in Music Composition with a secondary concentration in Music Education.

Francis has performed at the Kimmel Center, Merriam Theatre, and Kennedy Center.  Francis has performed with local recording artists: Kyonte Vincent, Darlene Simmons, and national recording artist Regina Belle.  Francis composes and performs all genres of music but concentrates mostly on Jazz and Classical.

Francis began composing in 2000 while attending Suitland High School and learning how to compose music for a broad range of ensembles to include: Jazz/Big Band, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and percussion ensemble. Francis had always dreamed of composing music for film and tv. Shortly after graduating from UMBC, he met director Marcus Thomas and scored music for the short film Casting Notice. Shortly after completing the score for Casting Notice, he composed the music for a pilot tv series written and directed by Christobal Caceres. In 2010, Francis was commissioned by the National Slovene Opera & Ballet to compose a 30 minute ballet choreographed by Kjara Staric. It premiered in May 2010 in Ljubljana, Slovenia and has since toured that region of Europe.
