Born in Washington
D.C., Francis attended Suitland High School
for the performing arts as a piano major.
In 2008, he graduated from University of Maryland Baltimore County with
a B.A. in Music Composition with a secondary concentration in Music Education, and
Administrative and Managerial Science.
Francis has performed at the Kimmel Center,
Merriam Theatre, and Kennedy
Center. Francis has performed with local recording
artists: Kyonte Vincent, Darlene Simmons, Darius Mills, and major recording
artist Regina Belle. Francis composes
and performs all genres of music but concentrates mostly on Jazz and Classical.
He served as Music Coordinator for Please Touch Museum from January 2009 - June 2010. On April 2010, Francis Coates started Music Play Patrol, a mobile music program based in Philadelphia. For more information please visit: www.musicplaypatrol.com.
